I know there are a bunch of threads regarding adding an aftermarket stereo and bypassing the factory amp, although my situation is a little different.

The stereo I have has no built in amp, you have to use an external amp. One day I may put in an upgraded amp/speakers/etc. but for now I would like to just use this deck with the factory amp if possible.

Can I just buy the regular wiring harness and swap it out?

You could, yes, but it won't do your head-unit any justice and will provide rather poor sound quality.

If the wiring harness is going to cost around £20-£30 you may aswell get yourself a cheap mp3 player for around 50 with built in amp mate ;) the stock amp is really crappy.
