Right,

As previously posted i have a strange creak on the neaside rear wheel.

Basically, when you can hear it, it sounds like a really bad dragging noise that occures once every revolution of the wheel.

The main thing about this problem, is that its completely intermittent! It comes and goes, one moment everything is 100% silent, car is creak free like new, then the next you think the wheel is about to fall off.

After jacking the rear wheel up. There didnt seem to be any "play" so to speak when trying to move it from side to side. However, on the nearside wheel only, when applying pressure in various directs it does make a creaking sound. The wheel itself seems pretty solid though.

So my question is this........

Surely if it was the wheel bearing, it would creak all the time and wouldnt be intermittent?

The only thing that makes me think its a possible wheel bearing issue is that it does creak slightly when trying to wheel for play.

(note, the otherside makes no noise)

Sounds odd mate!

Maybe its a tyre noise (out of alignment - but id have thought it would need to be drastically out!). Maybe its a rubber bush creaking, maybe its some part of the handbrake assembly occasionally catching (worse when cold or warm?)

I would say its worse when warm as it doesnt seem to do it when i first fire her up. Takes about ten mins of driving.

But to be honest its so random, just comes and goes like every ten minutes.

here the link to the video if you didnt see it in the old thread
