Right, I currently have nice Uk-spec TT Auto full BPU.

Never done any rolling/r tests but recon it should be close to 400bhp @ 1.2 bar, maybe 370-380bhp..never mind, not a huge difference. Tried her on autobahns & French roads without stupid cameras & had a nice experience to see almost 180mph on speedo. All speedos are wrong, we all know that, but I recon at least 165-170 should be true.

I've got full decat, Apexi boost controller, exhaust etc. The only thing missing is FMIC which I might consider from Paul Whiffin. However I belive it would only give a light gain, maybe 10-15 bhp.

We all know a feeling when you want more power. And I don't know which route shall I go. I'm quit happy with my Supra at the moment, also have a good deal from insurers - I gonna be only 25 in couple of weeks so couldn't insure J-spec year ago...thats why went for UK-spec. However by certain health reasons I stucked with either auto or tiptronic transmission.

But I want more power. So don't know what shall I do at the moment. Can see few options for myself

1. Buy completely different car. Unfortunately I can't buy Skyline R34 GTR-V due to manual transmission only & also I don't really like interior.

2. As soon as I'm 25 I could get Porsche. But I couldn't afford Porsche 996 Turbo tiptronic as well as GT3 or GT2 (last 2 I recon manual only anyway). Same reason for Ferrari 360 F1 and other supercars.

I can possibly afford normal Carrera 996 but I recon it wouldn't be much guicker than my Supra. Am I right? Same with affordable Maserati's etc - similar power to my TT

3. To go single. One of the preffered options. However, I recon it is not the cheapest option. Also, single with Auto transmission means 500-550 bhp max by spending £10K+. Am I right? Also 8-9K oit of this 10K is gonna be wasted on future resale.

4. Sell current Supra and try to find nice Auto Single for sale. Recon could potentially save me £4-5K, yes? But don't really think it is easy to find Auto single, preferably UK spec (bl**dy insurance again) . Any for sale at the moment? ;)

So guys, what would you think about all those dillema? Know, all above sounds a bit stupid but anyway. Any suggestions?

We just dynoed a supra today, Jspec, BPU (Still has 1st cat + Stock Intercooler) @ 1bar and that produced 397BHP... Your UK spec should do more than that and you could up the boost to 1.3 .4! because of the steel tubbies

Ive seen some full BPU Uks producing 450BHP...

Well, obviously it might be more than 400bhp @ 1.2-1.3, was never dino'd. Feels quit quick. I recon I should put in FMIC & dino her to see where I stand.

But I recon it is still around 400bhp, lets be realistic guys. ;)

Therefore the main question is still there - what shall I do?!

I need a daily driver car but at the same time I start to feel a bit boring with current power.

But at the same time I don't see any better value for money around.

What do you think, how difficult is to get hold of single turbo UK spec Auto? I recon is almost impossible bearing in mind how many of them been originally made. Was one for sale on forum early but I recon this is only one I've ever seen.

I'm not really keen on J-spec unless it is late tiptronic J-specs (maybe it sounds stupid - but I'm travelling around Europe frequently with my missus & don't really want to have the car without passenger's airbag...I know it is stupid... )

All singles are modified mate, standard they are all TTs (reread, you meant how many Uk autos made.. I think)

The tiptronic box on the later JSpecs should be kept away from if you want big power, they shit themselves...

Also the problems with them kicking down at 150mph, is never good

Probably cheaper to buy a twin turbo'd/supercharged Corvette C4 or even a boosted up 300ZX.

Yeah, Corvette C5 (not C4) was one of the ideas...However - insurance issues, not many delers to service them & LHD...therefore it is not the best daily car ;)

I'm also not keen on tiptronics.

Therefore it is very limited choice - looks like I might wait foreever for already modified Uk Auto example...so have either to modify my current car bearing in mind that all money spend on mods would be wasted (well, I'm, buyig some good fund for spend pennies ;) ) or go and look for something else...But don't think there are a plenty of choice...I love bl**dy Supras :D

Thing is alex, if you buy a modified one trying to save cash, you never know if its been modified properly... Do it yourself.. you already know your car is reliable and strong.. Thats the best base to start.. A trusted car..

More money yes, but youll get the exact spec you want, Specs differ, depending on how you want to drive it... If you do it, itll be YOURS!

THe customer is going to take it to the thor dyno day so we shall see if there is any difference..

:D Well its not going to be any less is it! If its calculating a 25% less then the dyno is not configured corectly or the operator doesn't know what they're doing (or some cynics might say they bump the figures to keep the customer happy ;) )

18% absolute max for manual, IMO 12% is closer to reality

You'll get used to the LHD aspect very quickly. There's plenty of specialists around the country too, so servicing shouldn't be an issue. Parts are absolutely dirt cheap! The insurance isn't too bad - I pay about the same for my '04 registered C5 convertible as I did for my '95 Supra TT.

You'll be pushed to see another 'Vette on the roads more than once every few months and it certainly gets as many (ok - slightly more!) looks than the Supra. Then there's the grunt off idle and the sound of a V8 with Borla exhaust!! Oh - and don't believe anyone when they say the 'Vette doesn't handle - it most certainly handles! I have Ohlins suspension on my Supra and the 'vette is most certainly better on the twisties.

Don't get me wrong - the Supe is a great car for its' age and I still love mine to death, but things move on.

Meant to say - I use my Corvette as a daily driver at the moment too. :D :d :D

Was looking on CL's before but at the end of the day it is Mercedes...I tested SL (not CL) - didn't like it. Don't think CL would be better. I know it might sound silly but in SL I feel like I have a glass between myself and steering wheel. It might be good car for missus but unfortunately not for me after Supra.
