What do you mean by 'rebuild'? Uprated rods, bearings etc?

Chris Wilson would be my ideal choice but I can't afford him and he's too far away from me. Phoenix would be my other choice.

Not really sure what needs doing to be honest. Uprated parts in the bottom end, how far I need to go I have no idea I initially thought the stock parts would be fine but I understand it wont last that long running high BHP so want to make the engine strong so it last a number of years.

Probably once again Phil, have a look through the older threads on what does need doing, and see what your budget allows, then contact CW and Pheonix and see whats what :)

Yes, sorry dad, I did have a look, but didnt see much conclusive. I'll try to do better next time.

I think it depends on the BHP you will be looking for but the standard engine can take 550 bhp all day long, Greg at turbofit was running his car with a standard bottom end and huge power I remember him telling me

Yes but he didn't really care if it blew up or not...

600at the fly is the most you want to run without going for lighter stronger parts.

I agree i just think that if your target is around the 500 mark then your money is well spent on other areas like brakes, fuelling, ecu, etc, i have spent too much money in the past on engine re builds that are not really required as many will agree 500-550 BHP for everyday road use is plenty
