What is this and why does it make a noise

After iv'e drove my car if i open the bonnet i get a wierd sound from the back right of the engine bay. It seems to come from a black cylinder thing with 2 hoses connected to it. Anyone know what it is? When you tap on it it makes a wierd noise. The noise only lasts a couple of mins and you can only hear it when right up close.

Anyone help???????

I believe you are talking about the charcoal cannister which removes the nasty petrol smell and is used in some form of tank venting or pressure relief type thing, its normal to make a little noise after driving

No it's highly dangerous. Best thing you can do is stay away from your car altogether judging by the number of questions you are asking.;)

i was dissapointed with the mk3 supra turbo after seeing knight rider. he used to press the button marked up turbo and it pinned him back in seat and made him jump over cars.
so with 2 turbos on the mk4 it should beable to jump a bus or lorry.

wonder if the knight rider cars turbo button was like an early boost controller.

when i get some nos gong to get them 2 red buttons on steering wheel for my NOS install. also going to get a P switch to acctivate my purge kit. thats what the big P will mean (PURGE) it will be a blue flashing switch.
it could also distract the racer on the other lane.

Only one thing wrong with that, KITT was never a toyota he was a Pontiac Trans Am.. so of course a mk 3 supra couldnt jump cars, its a pontiac thing.. lol.. plus u need the hydraulic rams underneath to lift the car after accelerating hehehe...
